“Sausage Pizza” Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups French bread, cubed into ½” cubes

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage

  • 2 jars Clean Plate Pantry Pizza Sauce

  • 6 large eggs

  • 1 ½ cups whole milk

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • ½ tsp. pepper

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350˚F.

  2. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and shredded cheese.

  3. In a skillet, brown the sausage until thoroughly cooked. Add sausage to bowl. Add Pizza Sauce to bowl.

  4. In a smaller bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until completely combined.

  5. Pour custard into large bowl and fold all ingredients together.  

  6. Pour into a greased 13 x 9” baking dish and top with parmesan cheese.

  7. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
